I couldn’t bring myself to write about the pathetic showing by the gentlemen wearing Browns uniforms yesterday. It was too soon. I don’t know that I will be able to put together rational thoughts this morning. Truth is I’m really getting sick of rooting for this terrible, terrible team. Since the “Browns” have been back in the league they have brought with them a new brand of sucks. Before we would at least wait until the playoffs to choke, now we do it for at least 8 home games a year. Fact is the phrase home field advantage means about as much in Cleveland as it does in Ann Arbor. And I’m really getting tired of it.
What are we supposed to do? We’re supposed to continue supporting a team that gets beat soundly by every other team in our division? We’re supposed to buy tickets to watch our team get slaughtered every home game? We’re supposed to read crap like this after watching that stinkfest? http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/article.php?id=7285 That is insulting to me.
It was obvious to me that there are a few, and I mean a few, play makers on that offense. What was also obvious is that this coaching staff did not properly prepare them. You know, the Colts get blitzed. The Patriots get blitzed. The difference is they either pick up the blitz or perhaps audible into a better route, or throw to a hot receiver. I’d like to play Madden against Charlie Frye. I know I can spot a blitz better than he can. Perhaps I will find time later to do some sort of “intelligent” analysis of the game, break down the defense and try to find positives to build on.
Or maybe I’ll just go play Madden.
